| 520 | _aMarine Fisheries Research in Sri Lanka was initiated in late 1940's with the establishment of the Research Division within the department of Fisheries. When the National Aquatic Resources Research & Development Agency (NARA) was formed in 1981, the former research division was abolished and the majority of the research staff were directly absorbed in to the Marine Biological Resources Division of NARA. This division now comprises of a Director, 6 Research Officers, 5 Research Assistants and one Typist in the permenant cadre and 10 data collectors and a data entry operator on a temporary basis. | ||
